It\u2019s home tour time. You know the drill. Aunt Laurie comes into your home. \u00a0We snaps oodles of pix. Talk\u00a0about how cool it is. Then point\u00a0out stuff from Laurie\u2019s to show what good taste we all have.<\/span><\/p>\n

This time the drill has an extra special element. It\u2019s called Vickie Allen. She\u2019s been working with Laurie for years. The home she shares with her husband\u00a0Tommie<\/span>\u00a0is kind of like a history of Laurie\u2019s business.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vickie has so much Laurie\u2019s stuff she actually calls her style \u201cLaurie-esque.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Some stuff is brand new. Some goes as far back as Laurie\u2019s McLaren\u2019s days. That was a shop Laurie opened in 1992 that led to lots of English boyfriends.<\/span><\/p>\n

But we\u2019re not here to talk boyfriends. We\u2019re here to talk Allen home. And there\u2019s plenty to talk about.<\/span><\/p>\n

Like colors. If you can\u2019t tell, Vickie loves \u2019em. The purple room is her personal craft space. Even the marker and scissor bins are fashionable. And check out the pinks in the bedroom and bath.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vickie also likes the Irish pine cupboard. Not just for its looks. For its history and character. It\u2019s her favorite piece in the whole house. That\u2019s saying a lot.<\/span><\/p>\n

And then there\u2019s the \u201cJust Sayin\u2019 Room.\u201d Once a breakfast nook, the room is named for Vickie\u2019s longtime habit of saying,\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m just saying\u2026.\u201d The chairs, wine cabinet and ottoman all came from various tent sales at Laurie\u2019s.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The room\u2019s lamp has a special function. Vickie and\u00a0Tommie<\/span>\u00a0take it outside on gorgeous evenings, with pizza, wine and a telescope. Neighbors know to stop by when they see the lamp out. It attracts them like moths.<\/span><\/p>\n

What else should you know? Three more things:<\/span><\/p>\n

• We especially adore the bedroom furniture. Don\u2019t tell Vickie, but we like the bureau better than the Irish pine cabinet.

• Vickie\u2019s use of textures and patterns is spot on.<\/span><\/li>\n
• Her husband doesn\u2019t mind sleeping in a pink bedroom.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
